#1..yes, spend the extra money..I was hesitant but I wanted something that would be comfortable to sit and sleep on, on a daily basis (in our camper). This hinged mattress was designed exactly for that and it lives up to its reputation.#2..came vacuum pressed and easy to put on futon even in cramped quarters of camper.#3..Young adult male, 6ft and over 200lbs slept very comfortably and it can easily sit three average adults or two adults and two kids comfortably.So far the quality is more than was expected, the value for the money has been well worth every penny, I did put a cover on it to protect it but one could easily not put a cover on it and it would look very nice. We did not experience any unwelcome smells and it was in a camper so those would be pretty obvious. Highly recommended!!
