First off, love the look of these shoes! The contrast in the stitching and the small amount of buffing to the black color looks amazing! Second, the fit. I had a hard time deciding between an 8 and 8 1/2 due to previous reviews, but finally decided on an 8 as many others stated the leather stretches and I didn't want them to end up too big and rub.. When I put them on, I was a little worried. They were really tight and I almost sent them back. Instead, I spent the next few days wearing them around inside, hoping to stretch the leather enough to be comfortable. I wore them out for the first time today. There are still some areas where they feel slightly tight, but not anything I can't deal with. I figure with a few more days of wearing them all day, I'll have them broken in enough to be super comfortable. Third, they are heavy. This is one of the heaviest shoes I've owned, but they are solid. The wooden sole is covered with a Vibram outer sole, so they stand up to a day of walking. I've received a ton of compliments on the contrasting stitching as well as the look of the shoe. Overall, love the shoe and like the fit.My husband was quite reluctant to wear these at first. He didn’t want to “break-in” another pair of shoes after we had his Brooks Brothers re-soled; howver he finally gave hem a chance and he now wears them everyday. He said he was surprised by how quickly they broke-in as opposed to his others. I told him it was because of the craftsmanship and the way the leather was tooled. He pointed out the upper portion by the toe bend. He said “I like how they did this. However they made this part right here, it feels so much better than other shoes. You know how other shoes tend to get that hard crease which cuts into your upper toe area sometimes because you’re bending at the toe? Well, this doesn’t do that! It feels so nice!” He’s referring to the soft leather which looks like it has holes, but its the way it was made that allows it to curve freely. I felt it and it does feel amazingly soft and shows no crease. He’s broken them in and likes how they have conformed to his foot. He walks a lot, daily at work and to lunch so it speaks highly of these shoes and their makers. Thank you Bed Stu! We’re now a Bed Stu family!! I’m so glad I have him on board now. Now he understands why I only buy Bed Stu too!Still breaking them in, but have to say I love them. Gorgeous shoe. For now, I am wearing them out to eat dinner etc. I look forward to being able to wear them for daily wear.I wore these shoes for the entire day the very first day! I have never had a new pair of shoes that was so comfortable from the start! No breaking in! I bought a half size larger than I typically wear and it is perfect!My 3rd pair of Bed Stu. Every pair is awesome and the fit is spot on.Well lets put it this way, overall shoes looks good, but the noise that these shoes are making, oh man!!! On carpet, inner leather rubbing against socks is just squeaky, but walking on vinyl, it sounds like I'm wearing pair of basketballs.
