This is wonderful, so soft. Feels like a somewhat heavy velvet blanket. My cat likes to scent mark one of our couches. We got a pet proof couch cover, but every time he peed on it, we had to go to the pain of removing it and putting it back on after washing. That cover looked terrible too. With the blanket it's a nice looking and feeling velvet. The cat does think it's ok to pee on it, but we take it off, wash it, and put it back. Of course it's not easy to dry because it is heavy. But we love this.
